Debra Schill
Debra Schill, CPA and Financial Coach
Debra Schill, CPA has functioned as a financial coach for over 15 years. Her intentions when servicing clients is simple– put more money in their pockets at the end of the year and direct their steps in achieving their next level of success.
Debra attended Dave Ramsey’s Counselor Training in July 2009. She coaches individuals and business owners using the same financial strategies that Dave teaches – build an emergency fund, pay off debt, build wealth and live on a budget, within your income. She is conducting a Financial Peace University in the 4th quarter of 2009.
Debra’s passion is helping small business owners through comprehensive financial and business coaching for their businesses. Unlike many other financial coaches and advisors, Debra coaches from the unique perspective of having built and operated her own small business.
She started as a 2-person bookkeeping service 15 years ago and has grown to an 8-person, full-service practice in 2009. She has successfully negotiated and completed 2 mergers, increased her client base times 6, and has collected millions of dollars in revenue in that same time period. All this in a 1,508-person town in the middle of Indiana, with an annual per capita income of $22,601. She firmly believes that a business owner can emulate her success anywhere.
Any advice that Debra provides comes from her own fine example of what works. She truly ‘walks the talk.’ One member of Debra’s network, Mary Ann McCarty of the Hoosier Writers Group, Inc., describes Debra this way:
- ‘It’s clear by Debra’s words and actions that she pays attention to the smallest details. I heard her say in a networking meeting that she had looked at her office’s expenditures for supplies and noticed that they were purchasing from different places. She decided to work with a local office products store to see if she could save by purchasing from one vendor. As I listened to her say this, I thought to myself, “A lot of business owners as successful as Debra would not take the hour or so to do this. They would tell themselves they are too busy, and just keep spending more dollars than they need.”
Debra’s philosophy is first and foremost relationship development–building trust and credibility. With business owners, she starts this relationship with a Free Business Evaluation and a Free Follow-up Consultation. Debra’s coaching session helps the business owner identify where to start TODAY and what steps to take in the next 90 days. There is no “get rich quick” strategy for building a successful business enterprise. It takes a well thought out business idea, setting reasonable goals, financial objectives and a lot of hard work.
